EDUCATION

As a proud product of public schools in District 52, I understand firsthand the crucial role a strong education system plays. Having served as an educator, I've witnessed the transformative power of education in shaping lives—it acts as a catalyst for economic prosperity and advancements in health.

Unfortunately, our legislature is undermining public education and Texas teachers by banning books, endorsing voucher scams, and attempting to rewrite history while censoring educators, who are already underpaid and overworked. Our education system is facing a crisis.

As your State Representative, I am committed to working collaboratively with my colleagues to address these challenges. My priorities include:

  1. Increasing Teacher Pay and Incentives

    • Advocating for fair compensation to recognize the invaluable contributions of our educators.

  2. Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Culture for ALL Students

    • Ensuring that every student, regardless of background, feels welcomed, supported, and encouraged in their educational journey.

  3. Supporting Policies for Physical Safety, Emotional Well-being, and Violence Prevention

    • Implementing measures that prioritize the safety and well-being of students, both physically and emotionally.

  4. Dismantling the School-to-Prison Pipeline

    • Working towards policies that redirect resources from punitive measures to supportive interventions, breaking the harmful cycle of the school-to-prison pipeline.

By addressing these key areas, we can safeguard the future of our education system and empower students to thrive. Together, let's build a Texas where education is a cornerstone of progress and opportunity for all.
